How to submit: After you have successfully uploaded your DBDA YouTube video to your account, send a message to youtube.com/daybydayarmageddon with your entry attached. Make sure the subject of your message states, "DBDA YouTube Contest Entry" or something similar.

A great DBDA video example can be seen HERE.

The main content rule is that your video be based in the DBDA volume 1 universe and contain the "Based on the novel Day by Day Armageddon by J.L. Bourne" notice. Use your imagination and let everyone see your creativity and innovation.
Deadline for entries is 23JAN10. Winners will be announced in first week of February.

Questions and discussions may be posted on this thread regarding the contest. Good luck and as always...Keep your doors locked.

That's an excellent suggestion. There is only one video that I know of set in the DBDA universe. It's the only video posted to my youtube account at this time. I was thinking of using it as a good example of the feel of videos that I'm looking for.

Borrow a camcorder from a friend. Or at worst, use the camera in your cell phone to record a video. Most computers also come with some free basic video software. It doesn't have to be something with special effects and a million dollar budget. There are hundreds of videos on youtube made by people with little or no resources/experience. I am sure you could come up with something good

Im on the same boat with the people, I think my first entry will have more of a solo, before day 17 approach, or at least before he meets his neighbor.

Polite Reminder: Although the video must be set in the Day by Day Armageddon universe, it is not required to follow the book. Some ideas include but are not limited to:

-The back story of the stockboy...how did he get to the point before being put out of his undead status?
-Pick anywhere, USA...make a character up in your head, make a video about him/her.
-Your character is a survivor on the outskirts of a nuclear zone...(maybe borrow a Geiger from a university for this). Him or her discovers for the first time, one of the radiated undead creatures.
-Your character is a survivor on a high rise in a major city that did not get nuked... Office Space meets DBDA... The bonus is you don't necessarily need to show the creatures, just look down from the window and describe them.

Those are just some random ideas that I spit out while typing this. Do not let your work be limited to DBDA (although videos based exactly on the book are welcome). Just know that the video must follow the rules of the DBDA universe. No flying zombie monkeys or Final Cut Pro Laser gun effects, etc., etc.

Thanks. I think it is okay for the first video I have ever put together. I just noticed that I didn't allow comments. I have fixed it so that people can leave comments. Hopefully people won't be too negative about it

The YouTube TOS agreement probably prohibits nudity. Sorry. Who would be nude in the video? I'm purely curious.
